We were asked to pitch to win the new luxury brand showroom design for Ideal Standard in 2008. With a distinctive gloss matt pyramidal structure and imposing graphic application, our scheme was selected. We divided the showroom into 6 area, 4 suite pods, one consultation area and one accessories wall, with a divider system to partition the space.
Each pod was broken down into 3 suites, which would follow the perimeter of the showroom, with one central pod showcasing low-level wall products. The divider walls used a black line devise, which linked all the pods together by looping along the diagonal and back along a ceiling pelmet then back around the walls. The central pod had a specific diagonal frame running up through below the ceiling raft. We created an independent accessories wall, which would showcase some of the JADO brassware collection to complement the premium sanitaryware of Sottini. The project was costed ready to be trialed in Cheadle, Manchester but the recession hit and the project was postponed. With the positive reception following this project, Camouflage in 2011 has become Ideal Standard’s showroom design and concept generator UK partner.
